What’s the singles scene like in San Diego?

Are there many clubs and associations to join as well as events for singles? What’s the malefemale ratio like? Would you say that there’s more women or men, or it’s about 50-50? I’m considering moving to San Diego and want to find out what the dating scene is like.

There are some clubs and associations to join for singles…
If you like sports, there’s a great one with thousands of people which isn’t technically singles, but it’s mostly 20s and 30s and mostly singles… Very social too, they have other activities like happy hours and weekend trips to baja. If you like hiking, there’s a huge sierra club here – 15,000 members… But there’s also a 20s30s singles section of it that has something like 300 members and they do lots of hikes, camping, parties, stuff like that. There are a lot of volunteer groups too that can lead you into meeting other people.

I think that just like anywhere… It takes a little time to get into a scene, but once you meet a couple key people, you’ll meet a ton right away.

Most of the military that are single are either really young or divorced. But there are lots of other guys here too. There are thousands of people in San Diego on dating websites like match.com and it’s not taboo – everyone does it. I’ve had friends go to dating events too and meet boyfriends/girlfriends there… So that’s always an option.

There are tons of clubs, tons of pubs, tons of nightlife, tons of things to do. What you are into, it’s here in San Diego.

I don’t know what the ratio of men to women is…. But it doesn’t matter. There are so many single people out there, that there are plenty to go around.

Susan asks…

What would you say the man to woman ratio is at San Diego Naval Base?

@Stewie ,i cant help it if im so handsome.

Sandy asks…

What U.S. city has the most men per woman? How do the major European cities compare?

. . a vital stat if you’re female, 40-something, and looking.

dancer.strippergods@yahoo.com answers:

As of the 2000 Census, in places with 100,000 or more people, the highest male-female ratios were in Salinas, Calif. (113.7), followed by Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (110.0),and the census-designated place of Paradise, Nev. (109.1). Of the ten largest cities, Phoenix, San Diego, and Dallas were the only ones to have more men than women. Since there is no centralized place that gathers such information for Europe, it would be hard to give an answer to your second question.

Ruth asks…

I want to move and I was wondering which city is better in your opinion San Diego or San Francisco?

In terms of things to do, nightlife, etc, and Im a college student if that helps.

dancer.strippergods@yahoo.com answers:

The two cities are very different, depends on what you want. It’s warm and sunny in San Diego, while SF has more nightlife. Both have plenty to do, however the straight male to female ratio is better for girls in SD.

There are way too many questions that need to be asked to give you a better answer.

Charles asks…

Marines gender ratio?

What is the Marines Male and female ratio in,
Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California and
Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina.

Do they train together, or separate, eat, run.

dancer.strippergods@yahoo.com answers:

There are no female Marine recruits at MCRD San Diego, it’s an all male training base. The women in Paris Island MCRD are in a separate training Battalion, 4th, and do all their training separately. You’ll see them at the range, and in passing but no, you won’t train, or run with them.

The university should have a website, or you could call them directly. They’re the only ones who are able to answer all of these questions.

Helen asks…

Which city in the USA has the highest percentage of men? And which has the highest percentage of women?

dancer.strippergods@yahoo.com answers:

According to the 2000 Census, Salinas, California has a male-to-female ratio of 113.7%, followed by Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (110%), Paradise, Nevada (109.1%), Santa Ana, CA (107.7%), and Tempe, Arizona (106.9%). Of the top 10, half are in California and no city in Alaska even made the top 10.

The cities with the lowest male-to-female ratio (and thus the highest female-to-male ratio) are Gary, Indiana (84.6%), Birmingham, Alabama (85.7%), Philadelphia, PA (86.8%), Jackson, MS (86.9%) and Richmond, VA (87.1%).

But this is just for cities with populations of 100,000 or more, so if you counted small towns, Alaska would probably be on there.

Looking at the 10 largest cities in USA, there are a lot of females in New York and Chicago and a lot of dudes in Pheonix and San Diego.

Richard asks…

Colleges in San diego?

Can Anyone tell me of some good colleges or community colleges in san diego?
are the neighborhoods good by those colleges?
how safe is san diego?
what about the night life?
and the weather?

dancer.strippergods@yahoo.com answers:

UCSD is not in Hillcrest. (There’s a UCSD hospital in Hillcrest though) The actual school is in La Jolla, which is about 10 miles north of SD and it’s a really good competative school. It’s in a very safe neighborhood. USD is a private Catholic University that sits on the top of a hill that overlooks the bay. It’s a good school too. It’s very expensive and I’ve heard it referred to as “University of Spoiled Daughters” because of all the rich kids and the high ratio of females to males. It also has one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve ever seen. SDSU is a public university in East San Diego. It’s not in the most glamorous part of town compared to the other two schools but it’s still nice and it’s easier to get in there than UCSD and USD. Then there are a slew of community colleges and vocational schools. There is great night life in Pacific Beach and the Gaslamp district if you’re 21. If you aren’t 21 then there’s always TJ! But you have to be careful there and you will also need a passport to go there after 1/31/08. San Diego crime depends totally on the neighborhood. You won’t find as much crime at USD or UCSD though. Oh and the weather is mostly sunny. It rains in the winter every now and then but it’s mostly warm and sunny. Hope that helped.
